At seven months old, Rikka had already earned her Championship through the United Kennel Club.
Rikka’s sire, Gulliver, is the very first American Kennel Club Champion and Grand Champion, was also the first Leonberger to appear in the Group Ring at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club in 2011. Following in her father’s footsteps, Rikka at twelve months old was the first Leonberger to appear in the Group Ring at the huge Detroit Kennel Club show also in 2011, starting her AKC career off with a 5 point major win.
At one year old, Rikka is already several pounds heavier than her mother, and about an inch taller. While Rikka is definitely within the standard for Leonbergers, she will be a large female. Rikka shares her mothers beautiful golden coat (at least for now!) and also her sweet gentle nature. Rikka has the typical leo love of water and easy going attitude. She is an active young dog and hasn’t met anyone she doesn’t like.
At 16 months, Rikka attained her IABCA (International All Breed Canine Association) Championship.
At 19 months, the coveted AKC championship! The very first Good Life Leos champion – we couldn’t be more proud!
At less than two years old, Rikka has begun work as a therapy dog.
Rikka finished #4 in the country in the UKC for 2011.
We co-own Rikka, and she only lives about 20 minutes away, so we are blessed to see her frequently as she grows up.
Rikka attended her first LCA National Specialty in 2011, and the judge had some great comments about Rikka: Soft expression, nice conformation of the muzzle and skull. Nice long neck, shoulder well angulated. Very good angulation in stifles and hocks. Tail carriage correct. Moves well, rectangular and strong with good power and stride. Very good natured, well presented. Rating: Very Promising (highest possible for a puppy)
Rikka was the Best of Breed at AKC Detroit Kennel Club show 2011
